WHAT IS NEET ?
With an objective to conduct a transparent and efficient standardized test to assess the skills of candidates for admission, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and Government of India (GOI) established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous and self-sustained premier organization. NEET-UG is currently conducted (2019 and onwards) by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Formerly, it was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, from 2013 to 2018.The National Testing Agency (NTA) conduct NEET for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Veterinary and other medical/paramedical courses in India. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the sole entrance test for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in India. Both AIIMS and JIPMER MBBS examinations have also been merged with NTA NEET. With approximately 15,00,000 test-takers, NTA NEET is the most important medical entrance examination in India.
As per the orders of Honourable Supreme Court, there will be a single medical entrance exam all over India for admission into medical and dental colleges. The colleges will not be able to conduct their own medical entrance exam. All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT), is now known as NEET. The total number of seats offered under NEET are 66,000 which is distributed accordingly.
NEET is also for admission into 15% seats in government medical and dental colleges and in all private medical and dental colleges all over India.
ELIGIBILITY AS PER RELATED REGULATIONS
- He/she must have completed 17 years at the time of admission or should complete that age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.

EXAM PATTERN AND STRUCTURE
There are questions asked from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology. There are 45 questions from each of the sections. A correct response gives the candidate 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. No marks are deducted if the candidate has not attempted a question. The total time duration is of 3 hours.SYLLABUS
